A Queen Anne Victorian built in the 1880s, The Pineapple Inn is decorated with a blend of old and new furnishings, transforming the house into an enchanting bed and breakfast with five unique guestrooms. Restored woodwork and natural wood floors give added charm to the turn-of-the century home; central air conditioning and private baths provide modern-day comfort.

Your hostess has created the perfect recipe for a relaxing getaway: snuggly beds swaddled in luxurious linens, a bath stocked with lavishly thirsty towels and spa robes, complimentary home-baked cookies and beverages, and an extraordinary breakfast in the morning.

The Pineapple Inn is located at 204 West Jefferson Street, within walking distance of the central business district, featuring many unique specialty shops, and the historic McDonough County Courthouse. The Inn is just a short drive to Western Illinois University, Spoon River College Macomb Campus, McDonough District Hospital, Pella Corporation, NTN Bower, and Cobb Aviation Services.

The Pineapple Inn
Earns 2nd
Illinois
Main Street Award

Illinois Main Street Award

The Pineapple Inn was recognized with an Illinois Main Street Award for the second year in a row at the Macomb Area Chamber of Commerce Awards Dinner on February 7. Illinois Main Street is a comprehensive community revitalization program that promotes historic preservation and economic development of the state's traditional business districts. Improvements at the Inn since I purchased it in June 2004 include exterior painting and landscaping, interior decoration and renovation, and installation of wireless Internet service. As they say in the world of sports, I'm going for a three-peat, with plans to continue with landscaping improvements and more exterior painting, always on the agenda at an 1880's Victorian!

There's a New Sign
Out Front!

Jackson Street Photography Company

"Out of hundreds of deserving, attractive, well-kept homes and businesses in Macomb, The Pineapple Inn is honored to have been selected to receive an award in the Business category by the Beautification Committee of the Macomb Beautiful Association for 2006. The Association placed the yellow signs on the six residential properties and two business properties that are being honored this year. Honorees will be presented plaques and gifts at the Macomb Beautiful Association awards banquet in October.

What a Lucky Shot!

The highlight of Macomb's Heritage Days Festival 2006 was the appearance of the Budweiser Clydesdales in the June 24 Parade. The Clydesdales stabled at Farm King all week long, and they were a popular attraction. I was heading back to the Inn after watching the parade, and just as I arrived at the corner of McArthur and Jefferson Streets, who do I see passing right in front of The Pineapple Inn but this impressive team of animals, including the vigilant dalmation perched atop the beer wagon. I dropped my purse on the sidewalk, pulled out my digital camera, and had only one chance to take a shot. I was rewarded with a once-in-a-lifetime photograph of the Clydesdales with The Pineapple Inn as a backdrop. Now, if only I had a panorama camera-those horses are huge! Unfortunately, the entire team doesn't fit in the frame. But I love this picture anyway.
